Dear Dr. McGregor,
  • What did you learn about yourself (as a person) as a result of participating in this class (good and bad)? What I learned about myself is that I know a lot more about different types of technology that I thought I did. A majority of the Web tools I can use to relay data to my teachers instead of just talking to them and showing them graphs and charts.
  • What did you learn about being a teacher from creating your products? This class did help me remember that you need to be sure to give students some choices and time to explore and play with new tools.
  • What you are most proud of as a result of doing your products? I am most proud of some of the products that I created that I didn't think that I would be able to do. I am always liked technology and exploring different tools. This class made me take the time to explore some new technology and have fun creating some useful products.
  • What you would do differently next time you use technology? By working for an online school, I use technology all day long. I don’t think that I will do anything differently, but I am always amazed at all the wonderful and amazing things that can be done with technology.
  • What you are most concerned about with using technology and how you will overcome obstacles with technology? I am most concerned about being able to assist others with technology and answering all their questions. We have a small staff and everyone pitches in to help students who are struggling with technology. Technology has so many different levels, that it takes a lot of time to learn it and to become comfortable with it in order to help others with it. I will overcome this obstacle by dedicating time each week to just focus on technology and building up my skills.
  • What you are most concerned about with teaching and how you will overcome obstacles? In my current position, I do not get the opportunity to teach anymore, and I probably will not go back to the classroom. I am currently a data leader/assessment coordinator for an online school. Part of my job is to plan and present at some trainings, but not teaching new material or new ways to do things.
  • What you are most excited or intrigued about with regards to using technology? The most exciting part of technology is that it is always changing. What we can do today, was not possible five years ago. Since it is always changing, what you can do with it is also changing. You can create more and more products with it and make learning more engaging and exciting.
  • What you are most excited or intrigued about with teaching? Even though I don’t teach, the most exciting thing about teaching is to make learning fun. Technology is a great way to do this.
  • Which century will you teach in--the twentieth or twenty-first and what indicators will be present that most epitomize your classroom? If I was to teach, it would be in the twenty-first century because of all the interactive and engaging lessons you can do with today’s technology.
  • What difference will you make? The difference I will make is, even though I am not teaching, I can still assist students and so the importance of lifelong learning.

Thank you for all the wonderful and fun projects. You gave me a chance to really look and think about technology and how we could implement it into everyday teaching.
